This reporter has observed what many others have been complaining about for several years - an unusual decorating of our local sky with chemtrails. This incident took place on October 30, 2004 in Sacramento, California. The morning dawned beautiful and the sky was clear blue without even a hint of cloud cover. From 9:30 am until noon, two planes high in the sky began crisscrossing the sky leaving huge chemtrails in their wake. South to north and then east to west. By noon, the entire sky for as far as one could observe, the entire Sacramento area was then overcast without a speck of blue to be seen.
One has to wonder why two airplanes would spend several hours flying over a major metropolitan area turning clear blue skies into dreary, gray-white that made the air feel like it was hanging right over your head like a brick? Many concerned citizens have been researching this issue for years and while many may write this off as conspiracy theories with people who have nothing better to do with their time, the issue might deserve a deeper look.
Rose Stevens, Director of Vaccine Safety Concerns for the Common Cause Medical Research Foundation and Director of Research for the Eagle Foundation, recently stated, "In our last Journal of Degenerative Diseases our cover page had pictures of the Chemtrails--(I am not off topic--because this deals with vaccines--keep reading). The article below is from a scientist who thinks he knows why they are spraying them and how the flu vaccine is involved in the plan. Newswithviews.com ran a news item on chemtrails last week that brought an avalanche of mail, similar to what happened regarding the first news item on Rumsfeld and aspartame. Below are just a few comments from the hundreds of letters to the editor. I think it important to hear stories on this issue from regular folks around the country.
From Nathan: "Look at the work of Clifford Carnicom at www.carnicom.com, which has extensive chemical analyses of chemtrail emissions. The chemical/biological/viral content of chemtrails changes.....In the past, various biologically active elements (viral bodies, etc) have been in chemtrails, causing widespread flu-like symptoms and shortness of breath." If you scroll almost to the bottom of this carnicom.com web site, you will see excellent photos of chemtrails in Colorado and New Mexico.
From Ellyn: "Thank you for your informative chemtrail article. I have been observing chemtrails in the Inland Northwest since the beginning of 2000 when the chemtrail spraying project began in this part of the world... Our area has not been given much reprieve during these last five years; the spraying has pretty much been a daily operation. I personally got very ill from a major spraying that occurred a few years ago. The illness began in my throat, traveled down into my chest, and then up into my head, and lasted a couple of weeks. There were times when I had an extremely difficult time taking a breath.
"At about the same time, my next door neighbor, who had been in very good health, suddenly developed pneumonia, and his daughter developed so many problems with her thyroid that the doctors decided to remove her thyroid gland; she was only 16 years old at the time. Many, many people in the Spokane area where I live have developed respiratory problems, asthma problems, headaches and lung problems. Much of these ailments have left the doctors confounded as to their cause. Over time I have made a very real effort to contact authorities, media, universities, and others--all to no avail. There are also many others who have put out very large efforts to communicate with politicians, EPA, news media, etc.--again, all to no avail."
From Melanie: "Sir, It is called "Operation Cloverleaf" and I do believe you probably know that. It has been a covert government operation for years but has been stepped up lately. Military and/or UN or Nato jets fly patterns of barium, mercury, lead and even dried blood cells over our heads almost daily and usually 24 to 36 hours prior to rain, fog or overcast. There is talk now that they are also spraying low level radiation. The only days we do not witness chemtrails in Connecticut is are when we have clear cold days with northwest winds. But as soon as the wind drops off and the weather warms a bit, they start again, sometimes in the morning hours but most of the time mid to late afternoon and from east to west as far as the eye can see.
"Once in awhile, they crisscross each other. They spread out and forms thin layers of clouds. Sometimes they drip and then spread out. I have seen them fly on a moonlit night right across the moon. You might notice they spray lower at night and higher during the day. The spraying began heavily last September 2003 and continued throughout the fall and winter. More people were sicker than ever with respiratory infections last 2003/04 year and it has started all over again this year. Now we have the flu starting. Years ago, the fly season did not start until February or March. I have written to my congressmen and senators with no avail. They send me trash about contrails, which are water vapor trails and which dissipate. Chemtrails do not!"
From Rob: "NWV, thanks for this information. Just yesterday Saturday Dec. 18th I noticed these chemtrails just to the north of me in Bedford Texas. I left home to pick up breakfast. This was around 10:00 am. About 1:00 PM 3 hrs later I spotted a plane just to the south of me leaving these chemtrails. Our skies were covered with these trails and looked as if they were clouds of unusual forms. These events happen too often and I have great concern for my family. In any event of your learning more information on this subject please share."
There were a number of letters to the editor offering up rather colorful comments that chemtrails are just vapor and why would NWVs bother with such "silly stuff?" News organizations report issues, events and people they feel their readers would find of interest. In the case of chemtrails, I have known about this for years and have known about the herculean efforts many individuals have made in hounding their elected officials to find out what is being sprayed over their cities and towns, only to be met with silence.

While it frightens most Americans to even contemplate something so heinous as spraying our population with things that might bring harm, Death in the Air is fully documented and covers a wide range of topics. In a calm and non hysterical fashion, Dr. Horowitz states the case for global de-population, the danger of medications being administered to our fellow Americans, the truth about flu shots (and Howowitz isn't the only expert in the field warning people about that) and chemtrails.

A good investigative journalist asks questions and seeks the truth. For some reason, too many Americans don't want the truth anymore and brand anyone asking reasonable questions about any number of issues, incidents or legislation, as crazies, conspiracy buffs and other defaming labels. I suppose it's fear, because the truth these days is apt to be very ugly and makes people afraid. Fear seems to be the driving force behind the apathy we see out in America today. Gene E. Franchini, retired chief justice of the New Mexico Supreme Court gave a magnificent speech titled What fear is doing to our freedoms. What Franchini says is right on point. America needs courage and leadership at this time in our history, not people who are too afraid of the truth to do anything other than accept chains of bondage.
I have raised the issue of chemtrails with my rep in the California State Legislature and have received no response. Now I'm taking it up with someone in the media here in Sacramento that I believe will help push the issue so that we might get some answers about what is being sprayed over this city. Because I have studied enough on this subject over the years as well as the agenda for world government, my suspicions at this time are strong enough to push for answers vigorously. I encourage you to do the same if chemtrails are being sprayed over your city. If your representative in your state legislature doesn't respond, go to the media. This is a public health issue and every American is entitled to know what's going on. Those in your local media (including their children) are breathing the same air - something they should think long and hard about before they refuse to help you get answers from your state legislature or local health officials.
This nation is full of sick and dying people from infants to the elderly. It truly breaks my heart. Most of it is caused by what they're eating, drinking and taking (meds). We've all heard about the pulling of Vioxx and other drugs the FDA deemed "safe for human consumption," but later have turned out to be deadly. In fact, scientific research through U.S. government satellite and balloon measurements shows that the temperature is actually cooling-very slightly-.037 degrees Celsius.
A little research into modern-day temperature trends bears this out. For example, in 1936 the Midwest of the United States experienced 49 consecutive days of temperatures over 90 degrees. There were another 49 consecutive days in 1955. But in 1992 there was only one day over 90 degrees and, in 1997, only 5 days. Because of modern science and improved equipment, this "cooling" trend has been most accurately documented over the past 18 years. Ironically, that's the same period of time the hysteria has grown over dire warnings of "warming."
Changes in global temperatures are natural. In fact, much of the recent severe weather has been directly attributed to a natural phenomenon that occurs every so often called El Nino. It causes ocean temperatures to rise as tropical trade winds actually reverse for a time. The resulting temperature changes cause severe storms, flooding, and even drought on every continent on earth. It's completely natural. El Nino has been wreaking its havoc across the globe since long before man appeared.
How about the reports that the polar ice cap is melting? On Election Day the Financial Times of London carried the hysterical headline: "Arctic Ice Cap Set to Disappear by the Year 2070." The article stated that the Arctic ice cap is melting at an unprecedented rate. The article is based on a report titled: "Impacts of a Warming Arctic," submitted by a group of researchers called the Arctic Climate Impact Assessement (ACIA).
It must be understood just who makes up this so-called group of researchers. The report is not unbiased scientific data. Rather, it is propaganda from political groups who have an agenda. The report was commissioned by the Arctic Council, which is comprised of a consortium of radical envionmentalists from Canada, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and the United States. All are nations that possess land within the Arctic Circle. Many of these countries, through the Kyoto Protocol, have a financial stake in pushing the global warming agenda. One of the groups providing "scientists" to the ACIA "researchers" is the World Wildlife Fund, one of the leading chicken-little scaremongers who create junk science at the drop of a news release to terrify us all into proper environmental conduct.

The report is now being used at the global warming meeting currently underway in Buenos Aires to rally the troops and bully the United States into accepting the discredited Kyoto Protocol. We are being warned of killer heat waves, vast flooding, and the spread of tropical diseases. Ocean levels are rising and America's coastlines are doomed, they tell us. Hurricanes and tornadoes have already become more violent, we are warned. Floods and droughts have begun to ravage the nation, they cry. Any change in temperatures, or an excessive storm, or extended flooding is looked upon as a sure sign that environmental Armageddon is upon us. Diabolical environmentalists are using the natural El Nino phenomenon to whip people into a Global Warming hysteria.

We are assured by such groups that scientists everywhere are sounding these warnings, and that we may only have one chance to stop it. Well, as the debate rages, we find that there are really two kinds of scientists. There are those who look at facts and make their judgements based on what they see and know. Their findings can be matched by any other scientist, using the same data and set of circumstances to reach the same conclusions. It's a age-old practice called "peer review." It's the only true science.

And then there are those who yearn for a certain outcome and set about creating the needed data to make it so. Usually you will find this group of scientists greatly dependent on grants supplied by those with a specific political agenda who demand desired outcomes for their money.
Let's just take NASA, for example-the most trusted name in American science. A lot of NASA scientists have fallen into the money trap. Environmental science has become the life-blood of the space program as the nation has lost interest in space travel. To keep the bucks coming, NASA has justified launches through the excuse of earth-directed environmental research. And the budgets keep coming. At the same time, many of NASA's scientists have a political agenda in great harmony with those who advocate global warming. And they're not above using their position to aid that agenda whenever the chance is available.
This was never more clearly demonstrated than in 1992 when a team of three NASA scientists were monitoring conditions over North America to determine if the ozone layer was in danger. Inconclusive data indicated that conditions might be right for ozone damage over North America-if certain things happened.
True scientists are a careful lot. They study, they wait, and many times they test again before drawing conclusions. Not so, the green zealot. Of this three-member NASA team, two could not be sure of what they had found and wanted to do more research. But one took the data and rushed to the microphones with all of the drama of a Hollywood movie and announced in hushed tones that NASA had discovered an ozone hole over North America.
Then Senator Al Gore rushed to the floor of the Senate with the news, and drove a stampede to immediately ban Freon-five years before Congress had intended-and without a suitable substitute. He then bullied President George H.W. Bush to sign the legislation by saying the ozone hole was over Kennebunkport, Maine-Bush's favorite vacation spot. Two months later NASA announced-on the back pages of the newspapers-that further research had shown there was no such damage. But it was too late. The valuable comodity known as Freon was gone forever.
Then there are those computer models. Night after night Americans watch the local news as the weatherman predicts what kind of a day tomorrow will be. These meteorologists, using the most up-to-date equipment available, boldly give you the five-day forecast.
But it's well known that even with all of their research and expensive equipment it really is just a "best guess." There are just too many variables. If the wind picks up here, it could blow in a storm. If the temperature drops there, it could start to snow. The earth is a vast and wondrous place. Weather does what it wants.
Yet those who are promoting the global warming theory have the audacity to tell you they can forecast changes in the global climate decades into the future. The truth is computer models are able to include only two out of 14 components that make up the climate system. To include the third component would take a computer a thousand times faster than we have now. To go beyond the third component requires an increase in computer power that is so large only mathematicians can comprehend the numbers. Moreover, even if the computer power existed, scientists do not understand all the factors and the relationships between them that determine the global climate.
So it's an outrage for the World Wildlife Fund or the Sierra Club to tell you that man-made global warming is a fact and that we Americans must now suffer dire changes in our lifestyle to stop it.

And so too is it an outrage for the news media to tell you that most true scientists now agree that man-made global warming is a fact. What it doesn't tell you is that roughly 500 scientists from around the world signed the Heidleburg Appeal in 1992, just prior to the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, expressing their doubts and begging the delegates not to bind the world to any dire treaties based on global warming. Today that figure has grown to over 4000 scientists. Americans aren't being told that a 1997 Gallop Poll of prominent North American climatologists showed that 83 percent of them disagreed with the man-made global warming theory.

And the deceit knows no bounds. The United Nations released a report at the end of 1996 saying global warming was a fact, yet before releasing the report, two key paragraphs were deleted from the final draft. Those two paragraphs, written by the scientists who did the actual scientific analysis, said:
1. "[N]one of the studies cited above has shown clear evidence that we can attribute the observed climate changes to increases in greenhouse gases."
2. "[N]o study to date has positively attributed all or part of the climate change to…man-made causes."
Obviously, those two paragraphs aren't consistant with the political agenda the UN is pushing. So, science be damned. Global warming is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the people of the world-bar none.

Those who have been fighting against the radical green agenda have been warning that modern-day environmentalism has little to do with protecting the environment. Rather, it is a political movement led by those who seek to control the world economies, dictate development, and redistribute the world's wealth. Chemicals and pesticides that helped to make this nation the safest and healthiest in the world are targeted for extinction. Our entire nation is being restructured to fit the proper green mold. All of it for a lie about something man has nothing to do with.
But the lie has grown to massive proportions-and the game is about to get very serious indeed. Pressure is building again to impose the Kyoto Protocol worldwide. Only a few years ago, this treaty appeared dead when President George W. Bush refused American participation. Now, however, Russia has signed on and the UN has enough support to begin implementing its dire consequences-even on the United States. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) has called the White House stance on global warming "terribly disappointing." McCain is now using the ACIA report to convene hearings on the "human effect on climate and what to do about it." McCain intends to help build pressure on the President to accept the Kyoto Protocol.
In fact the Kyoto Protocol is a legally binding international treaty through which industrial nations agree to cut back their energy emissions to 7 percent below 1990 levels. That means that all of the energy growth since 1990 would be rolled back, plus 7 percent more. Such a massive disruption in the American economy, particularly since it has nothing to do with protecting the environment, will devastate this nation.
To meet such drastically-reduced energy standards will-in the short run-cost the United States over one million jobs. Some estimate it will cost over seven million jobs in 14 years. If the treaty sends the economy into a tailspin, as many predict, it will cost even more jobs.
It will cost the average family $1,000 to $4,000 dollars per year in increased energy costs. The cost of food will skyrocket. It has been estimated that in order for the United States to meet such a goal, our gross domestic product will be reduced by $200 billion-annually.
To force down energy use, the Federal government will have to enforce a massive energy tax that will drive up the cost of heating your home by as much as 30 to 40 percent. In all likelihood there will be a tax on gasoline-as high as 60 cents per gallon. There will be consumption taxes and carbon taxes. The Department of Energy has estimated that electricity prices could rise 86 percent-and gasoline prices 53 percent.
The purpose of these punitive costs is to drive up the cost of modern living in order to force you to drastically change your lifestyle. That is the diabolical plan behind this restructuring scheme. Cars banned. Industry curtailed. Housing smaller. Family size controlled.

Every single product that is produced with the use of energy will increase in price. This includes items such as aspirin, contact lenses, and tooth paste. A study by the Department of Energy's Argonne Laboratory finds that the treaty will cripple six U.S. industries including paper, steel, petroleum refining, chemical manufacturing, aluminum, and cement. That about sums up the economy.

And international corporations, who owe allegiance to no nation, will bolt America and move their factories, lock, stock, and computer chip to those Third World countries where they will be free to carry on production. But that means the same emissions will be coming out of the jungles of South America instead of Chicago. So where is the protection of the environment? You see, it's not about that, is it?

Still not convinced? One more thing. Hidden in the small print of the treaty is a provision that calls for the "harmonizing of patent laws." Now, robbing a nation of its patent protection is an interesting tactic for protecting the environment, don't you think?
And there's still more looting of the U.S. treasury planned. Supporters of the Kyoto Protocol also want industrialized nations to subsidize poor countries' adaption to global warming to the tune of $73 billion per year. Obtaining such subsidies will be an interesting trick after the U.S. economy has been destroyed by the treaty. Looters rarely have the ability to think that far in advance.
Don't think this devastation can't happen. The UN and the European Union have exposed their hatred for the United States. They envy our wealth and think that legalized theft, rather than sound economic policy, is the way to obtain it. The fact is that one person now stands between the global warming jackals and economic sanity-George W. Bush. Will he stand firm in his opposition to the Kyoto Protocol? Or will he capitulate to massive international pressure and sell America's soul?

The Next Worst Thing
It has been called a modern-day Manhattan Project—a spending spree so vast and rapid that it might change the face of biological science. In the wake of 9/11, the U.S. government is funding a massive new biodefense research effort, redirecting up to $10 billion toward projects related to biological weapons such as anthrax. The Pentagon's budget for chemical and biological defense has doubled; high-security nuclear-weapons labs have begun conducting genetic research on dangerous pathogens; universities are receiving government funding to build high-tech labs equipped to handle deadly infectious organisms; and Fort Detrick, Maryland, once the home of America's secret bioweapons program, is about to break ground on two new high-tech biodefense centers.

In another project that has raised eyebrows among bioweapons experts, a U.S. Army medical scientist in Maryland has been seeking to bring back to life key parts of the 1918 Spanish flu, a lethal influenza virus that killed 40 million people worldwide. "The more you create secret research in biology," he warns, "the more you create risk." One program that has become public is Project Jefferson, a Pentagon effort to genetically engineer a vaccine-resistant version of anthrax. After the program's existence was revealed by the New York Times in 2001, the Pentagon announced that it intended to complete the project and that the results would be classified. "[The military's] natural instinct is to exploit the technology and keep everybody else away from it," says John D. Steinbruner, director of the Center for International and Security Studies at the University of Maryland. "In their hands, this technology is potentially extremely dangerous."
Programs like Project Jefferson have already raised concerns that U.S. scientists are treading dangerously close to the limits of the 1972 Biological Weapons Convention, which prohibits offensive research. Just months before September 11, the Bush administration walked away from negotiations to impose biological-weapons inspections, in part because American pharmaceutical companies did not want to open their labs to international inspectors. The abandonment of the talks left the world without any way to enforce the treaty's restrictions. Now, experts fear that the explosion of American research—including programs such as Project Jefferson that are widely viewed as potential violations of the treaty—might encourage other countries to disregard the convention.

WHO backs genetic experiments with smallpox
Scientists who advise the World Health Organization have decided to allow researchers to work with live, genetically modified smallpox virus, and to put smallpox genes into other viruses. The aim will be to find better drugs and vaccines against smallpox. But some smallpox experts think the work is pointless, as no one is likely to develop or stockpile any drug or vaccine discovered, and it may set an undesirable precedent. The decision to allow the research must be approved by the WHO’s member countries at their assembly in May 2005. The WHO declared in 1980 that smallpox had been eradicated, after a global vaccination campaign. It permitted only two labs to keep stocks of the Variola virus that causes smallpox: the US Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, and Vector, the Russian State Research Center for Virology near Novosibirsk. All work with the virus at the two labs must be approved by the WHO’s advisory committee on Variola research, which insists that the benefits must outweigh the risk of smallpox escaping.

University of Washington scientists plan to infect monkeys with a killer flu virus grown from tissue exhumed from victims of the 1918 epidemic. They hope the insight they gain will unravel the mystery of why tens of millions of people worldwide died from the virulent flu strain and lead to development of better vaccines and drugs that may save lives in the future. "This was the most deadly infectious disease in the history of mankind, killing at least 40 million people," said Dr. Michael Katze, a UW microbiologist and principal investigator for the local arm of the project.

BANGKOK, Thailand -- The World Health Organization has issued a dramatic warning that bird flu will trigger an international pandemic that could kill up to seven million people. The influenza pandemic could occur anywhere from next week to the coming years, WHO said. "There is no doubt there will be another pandemic," Klaus Stohr of the WHO Global Influenza Program said on the sidelines of a regional bird flu meeting in Bangkok, Thailand.

The vaccination of chickens against avian flu could lead to new strains which are a greater danger to humans. China and Indonesia are among countries vaccinating millions of birds against the virus. The World Health Organization (WHO) said vaccination remained one important way of fighting the flu outbreak.

That means if health authorities goof in choosing the viral strains they think will be prevalent in the coming season, or we have a flu-shot shortage like we did this year, it's too late to start a new batch. People get sick; people die. But two biotechnology methods will change that. One is reverse genetics, which precisely replicates only the viral genes that must be grown into vaccine. The other concerns multiplying that vaccine in mammalian cells. Both scramble the egg technique and slash manufacturing time, allowing a quick and life-saving turnaround in production of new doses.
With the present 50-year-old method, each February virologists from the World Health Organization (WHO) and elsewhere sample various populations to guess which three flu strains to put in the next vaccine. These are then grown in one set of eggs to make "seed vaccine," which is then injected into those tens of millions of other eggs and thereafter processed into the final product.

It's not just that this slow process makes the February guess a final one; it also makes it likelier to be wrong. Merely providing the WHO a few extra weeks to collect samples could make the difference in predicting the proper strains. But a radical "shift" in the strain would make the vaccine worthless. We would then suffer another pandemic, with far more deaths than usual. We had three pandemics in the 20th century and will inevitably suffer more.
Flu Vaccine Technology: Who’s Blocking its Use?
Unknown to most people, the flu vaccine situation deteriorated rapidly in the spring of 2004, but wasn’t covered by the media. Ordinary people watching the situation were left with the impression that everything was under control, and all was well. Wrong. There’s a manufacturing hold-up. The issues are murky and legal, and the spin doctors are rewriting the storyline almost daily.
Reverse genetics would save the day, said the early 2003 reports. Vaccine development now takes only a few days. Unlike old "genetic reassortment" technology, reverse genetics is easy to use with the deadly H5N1 bird flu viruses. Plus, it is fast and reliable. Using reverse genetics technologies, world vaccine production capacity can provide 750 million doses or 6 billion adjuvanted doses – within weeks.
By comparison: old "genetic reassortment" technology is slow, very difficult and subject to failure. It uses chicken eggs – which often are killed by bird flu H5N1 strains. Best case scenario: 250 million doses in 6 months at full-out glitch-free world production capacity; nowhere near enough, and way too slow.

More than three groups own the Intellectual Property rights for reverse genetic engineering. One of the groups is a company called Medimmune. Information about the other IP owners is not available. Reverse genetics technology was first developed in the 1980’s; ownership likely changed hands since. This is the kind of technology Big Pharma would want to control. If a vaccine that’s developed using reverse genetics goes into commercial production, then manufacturers need to negotiate royalties with all the IP patent holders. MedImmune will waive royalties on its intellectual property for pandemic flu vaccines that are offered free to the public, but the other IP patent holders remain invisible; none have made similar promises.

During numerous chemtrail spray episodes, the small town of Sallisaw in Eastern Oklahoma area was saturated with a web-like material in which lab techs discovered an unusually large enterobacteria. Sallisaw resident Patrick Edgar has reported on the internet that the entire town was made extremely ill by the spraying and that the town now has epidemic rates of both lupus and cancer.
Biological weapons encapsulated in protective coatings like synthetic webbing would explain why so many people who see web-like filaments drifting down from the skies report illness after touching the webs. When the webbing is closely examined, it is proven to be man-made filaments of the type developed by both industrial and military entities. Last year, South Africans reported web-like filaments falling from aircraft that formed a blanket-like appearance across vegetation, telephone poles and fences. When the cattle ate it they developed large bumps on their hides, became listless and went blind. Informed people everywhere are now wary of "web looking" materials.
This year, using both electrostatic precipitation devices and HEPA air filters to collect outdoor atmospheric samples, chemtrail researcher Clifford Carnicom and his associates have documented desiccated blood cells floating in the atmosphere in both New Mexico and Colorado. With so many atmospheric samples containing biological components, Carnicom has concluded that "crimes of the highest order are being perpetrated against citizens without their knowledge or consent." Who besides the Department of Defense would have the money and inclination to keep our atmosphere besmirched with such biological materials?

The country has solved its population problem." Earlier this year new UNFPA executive director Thoraya Obaid "praised" the "notable achievements" of the Chinese policy. Obaid told the Chinese People's Daily "that China, having adopted practical measures in accordance with her current situation, has scored remarkable achievements in population control." Statements like these puzzle human rights activists who wonder why UNFPA would be complicit in what they see as ongoing population control abuses against Chinese women.
The British newspaper Telegraph reported on August 8 that one Chinese county has been "ordered to conduct 20,000 abortions and sterilizations before the end of the year after communist family planning chiefs found that the official one-child policy was being routinely flouted…Many of the terminations will have to be conducted forcibly on peasant women to meet the quota. As part of the campaign, county officials are buying expensive ultrasound equipment that can be carried to remote villages by car. By detecting which women are pregnant, the machines will allow Government doctors to order terminations on the spot." The Telegraph reports that doctors have also been ordered to sterilize women as soon as they give birth.

UNFPA has been involved in the Chinese population-control program since 1978, when it signed a "Memorandum of Understanding" with the Chinese government. These latest revelations come as a member of the British House of Lords seeks to take British funds away from UNFPA, which is funded almost exclusively through donations from rich western nations. US contributions have become a political bouncing ball. Two years ago the US Congress, over objections from the Clinton Administration, defunded its annual $25 million grant to UNFPA. Under the first budget proposal from the new US president, UNFPA's $25 million has reappeared, angering social conservatives who seek to have it removed. Giving new meaning to the expression "etched in stone", the monument’s engraved messages come in eight different languages on four giant stones that support the common capstone, which features 10 Guides, or commandments.
UN Poster Boy Maurice Strong and former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev, who have decreed that their Earth Charter has already all but replaced the Ten Commandments of Moses, must have overlooked the Guidestones.
In any case, Georgia Guidestone Commandment Numero Uno is "Maintain humanity under 500,000,000, in perpetual balance with nature." (There’s no explanation how the other nine-tenths of the world’s population would be disposed of). But Strong and Gorbachev, both ardent advocates of population control would agree with the Guidestone’s first commandment.

Somewhat romantically, the monument was built on one of the highest hilltops in Elbert County, Georgia. Constructed in the 1980s, how the Georgia Guidestones came to be is steeped in mystery and secrecy of the rigorously imposed kind. An Internet write-up by Radio Liberty does explain the bits of its history that are known. "No one knows the true identity of the man or men, who commissioned construction. All that is known for certain is that in June 1979, a well-dressed, articulate stranger visited the office of the Elberton Granite Finishing Company and announced that he wanted to build an edifice to transmit a message to mankind." (Environmental activists often seem to have more money than brains.)
To continue with the Radio Liberty story, "He identified himself as R.C. Christian (imaginative chap), "but it soon became apparent that was not his real name." No kidding, how many people do you know who answer to the name "Roman Catholic Christian"? The stranger confided that he represented a group of men who wanted to offer direction to humanity, but to date, two decades later, no one knows who R.C. Christian really was, or even the names of those he represented.
The less than cryptic messages of the Georgia Guidestones need no decoding. They deal with four major fields: Governance and the establishment of a world government; Population and reproduction control; The environment and man’s relationship to nature and Spirituality.
A book, written by the man who called himself R.C. Christian, was said to be found in the Elberton public library. Its pages explain that the monument he commissioned had been erected in recognition of Thomas Paine and the occult philosophy he advocated. Should you decide to visit Elberton, Georgia anytime soon, you will undoubtedly recognize the site by the number of occult ceremonies and mystic celebrations that continue there to the present day.
As Radio Liberty points out, "Though relatively unknown to most people, it (the monument) is an important link to the occult hierarchy that dominates the world in which we live."
Yoko Ono, the widow of John Lennon, knows about the guidestones, but then again Yoko is not most people. "I want people to know about the stones…We’re headed toward a world where we might blow ourselves up and maybe the globe will not exist…it’s a nice time to reaffirm ourselves, knowing all the beautiful things that are in this country and the Georgia Stones symbolize that," she said.

When she was readying herself for a recent comeback as a standup comedienne, Roseanne Barr said pretty much the same thing. Some plain folk, however are not buying into the guidestones and file them under "U" for urban legends gone wild. "Why are they allowed to stand?" asks an Internet reactor. Oh, come now. They do, afterall make a convenient peeing post for the meandering cats, dogs and lost souls of bucolic Elbert County.

The stones' message encourages population control, a single world language and harmony with nature. "Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts," it says. "Balance personal rights with social duties." Each of the 10 precepts is repeated in English, Russian, Hebrew, Arabic, Hindi, Chinese, Spanish and Swahili, in addition to archaic Sanskrit, Babylonian cuneiform, Egyptian hieroglyphics and classical Greek. The four main stones are topped by a capstone with an astronomical calendar. A center stone has an eye-level, oblique hole drilled so that the North Star is always visible. The stones weigh 119 tons.
